5. Real Letters On Real Paper...
My protest is sending a check to my Congresscritter with the grand total of $0...and in the memo column the remark that my next check will go to a Democratic challenger if my voice on this issue isn't heard in September.

Mass emails are like junk mailings...especially if they all have the same header or similar ones. Ya think these people are gonna wanna read 500 emails that say the same thing? Some may robo-respond, and then people here get bent out of shape cause they didn't get a personal response.

If you want to get noticed...write a REAL letter...one that looks like it took the writer not just the time to compose the words, but also the effort in mailing it. Or, Memorial Day is coming up...be assured your Congresscritter will be at some public function...go there and politely either speak with that person or one of their reps and say it face-to-face. They need to know the passion isn't some "blogswarm", but a genuine groundswell of public opinion.

11. Do You Want Your Opinion Heard?
Today's vote is fait accompli...but it sets the stage for future battles.

I've played the email and fax game and have heard from numerous candidates over the years how annoying rather than informing they are. In the past when less people had faxes and email, I could see how this was effective, but now it's seen as a "blogswarm".

Now, if your Congresscritter is still on the fence on this issue, I'd call...find out where things stand. Otherwise, the message to those who vote for this blank check should be that they've pissed off the ones who helped get them elected and they either need to develop spines or watch their real support fade away.

Cheers...
