1. Um, thanks for the heads-up.
Pay more, get less. So what else is new? I hope I never need a doctor ever again.

6. after the health care bill passed, it went up 22 percent, (7 months ago) largest increase ever
and 11 percent is hardly small compared to the past

4. Manipulation.......
I suspect they are engaged in wholesale fraud (which should be investigated if we had a government actually interested in protecting the interests of its citizens against corrupt corporations).

My open enrollment in an employer-provided but self-funded health care program for 2011 was a paltry 4.3%, the smallest in 4 years.

So I suspect BCBS is an Obama hater and they are going to put the screws to their customers cuz they are angry, not because of an objective business decision.

5. I noticed this, too
Instead of the usual 15-20%, my premium went up only 10%. I doubt the health insurance bill had much to do with it, but I'll take it.

8. Assurant is dropping our RX coverage entirely
We're getting a RX discount card instead. Yee-ha. Of course, they will offer RX coverage if I upgrade to a "comprehensive" plan. I'm going to check out the price differential, but I suspect buying from Canada is going to prove cheaper than an upgrade.

9. That must be the magic number.....
11 percent increase here. And hubby's employer said they will pay only 25% of his coverage the next year instead of 50%....

13. We dumped them when our rates jumped.
Now we have cheaper insurance w/ huge deductibles, but we'll take the gamble.
