3. What is sad is that The Democrats in Congress are out of touch with their constituents.
They are paying TOO MUCH attention to the Corporate Media.

6. Like it or not, people will place some of the blame on the majority in Congress
Call it unfair. Call them idiots. Rant. Rave. Pout and Fume. Won't change anything.

People judge Congress by who holds the majority.

So if people looked to Democrats to stop Bush and then they don't (for whatever reasons), the people will judge the Democratic Party accordingly.

Yeah, they'll blame Bush and the GOP too...but that won't stop them from blaming the Democrats as well.

People tend to be a wee bit more angry with those they expect more from than those they don't expect anything from...

Unmet expectations can lead to a world of anger

7. Yes, but primarily because of the media
They despise the Democrats and do anythihng they can to piss on them. So no matter that they themselves (the media) bought the propaganda and capitulated it with glee for years on war, terror, Iraq and 9/11 AND have done nothing but cover up for this administration to keep getting their "access" and checks-never mind all that-that it took until 2006 for the Democrats to have any power-five years after 9/11-still it will be the Democrats "fault" if they don't end it. Because the war (and that future one with Iran that bankrupts us and turns us into a 80's version of the USSR) will continue, will escalate and go badly and become even more unpopular. And (GOD PLEASE) Bush will be gone by then-and they can still blame the Democrats for not stopping him, and ignoring thier own part and the endless lies that got us here.

8. No one on the earth believes it's the "Democrat's War". Just some here.
The U.S. Senate is teetering on a return to GOP control thanks to Joe Lieberman's continued threats. Take your ball and go home and leave this nation to slide further into fascism then it already has if that makes you feel better.

If the U.S. Senate reverts to the GOP, you will be wishing we only were in Iraq because we will be at war in Iran within weeks.

Stop attacking Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party. Stop insinuating that you have more concern about our troops than they do as you sit at your damned keyboard and monitor sulking.

Yeah, we lost won. He vetoed our bill. The GOP would not help us override it. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are not going to shrink away, goddammit! Give them some fucking credit.

This is Bush's god damned war. Stop even suggesting otherwise or you might wind up wishing that we had Harry Reid back running the Senate. Don't be penny wise and pound foolish.

You want to get angry? Then steer it where it belongs and that's to George W. Bush!

9. This is Bush's war. That hasn't changed. Our response, though, has
been uneven, muddied and hesitant. As many have noted, we don't own this war, but we seem hesitant to put it squarely in the lap of the White House. They have made the debate about 'supporting the troops' - a standard Republican ploy to redirect discussion. We should have had a clear response to that from the git go. We didn't and find ourselves in a quandary about how to proceed to bring a conclusion to this deadly debacle.

Funding, imho, is actually a red herring being played by the Administration under the cover of an "emergency" supplemental request. They have the money to continue the war - everyone knows that. This seems largely a political game at this point and the end game remains unclear.

I understand some of the maneuvering, but to be honest, I'm looking to tomorrow's House vote, if it comes to the floor, to see how it shakes out. And I'm willing to withhold judgment till a bill comes to the floor and the votes are actually cast.

And, of course, Congress goes home over Memorial Day and will have to answer to their home constituents *immediately* thereafter. That includes families with loved ones deployed or deployable. You'd think that would way into their thinking.

10. It always was
Let's not fool ourselves, the IWR and the cumulative effect of 60 years of foreign-policy continuity don't let anyone off the hook. It's a war dragged up by BushCo from a bipartisan mire of national egomania and witless aggression. Democrats have to clean up their act too.

12. It's both parties' war.
There is opposition but not enough to end it. If you think different, I can't see your logic.
