Controlling "the economy" talk
Edited on Thu Nov-11-10 10:26 PM by SHRED
The RW media and Republicans have us by the short hairs.

Notice how high-minded people from our side get when they exclaim in disgust, "they say cut the budget but they won't say where, they won't be specific".
Right there...right there we LOSE.
Instead of addressing the REAL problem which is a decreased and dismantled tax revenue stream. A revenue stream that they (the wealthy elites 'corporatisits') are sucking dry to increase their wealth. A class warfare they have waged and essentially won.
No instead we are letting them set the topic.

4. Likewise in Greece, They are losing even more jobs.
This is what happens when you cut spending in a
serious recession - Depression BEFORE the country
has really gone into serious recovery mode.
Often they can fall into Depression.

have been written especially from early in Bush Adm. time
period. It has probably been archived, but from memory
here goes.

From the time of Reagan Administration and the beginning
of real growth in Conservative Movement, we have heard
Tax cuts, Tax Cuts. Appear to be answer for everything
that is wrong in the world. There is a real method to
their madness.

First, you must believe them when they say they want
limited government. Limited Government also means small
government. There may be differences in how small their
vision of government is but it surely does mean much
much smaller than it is at present. Some have said
do away with Dept of Education, let states control this
completely. Do a way with Commerce, Energy. You get
the idea. Now those entitlements. True Conservatives
simply do not believe this is role of Fed Government.
For years they have been trying to get rid of these.
During the Reagan Adm., it has been said that when
Reagan was met with loud NO from the public when he
suggested Privatizing S.S.; he quipped--Okay, we can
starve the Beast. Norquist and Friends took this to
heart. He became one of the most devoted activist in
the quest to end entitlements. Starve the Beast is
his baby. He travels about the country spreading his
gospel. During the Bush Adm. he became the Coordinator
of the various Political Activist Groups under GWB.
Every Tuesday ()Wedneday? he meet or was on Conf Call
with President Bush to report on all the groups(Gun Rights
Religious Right, there seems to be about Umpteen. At
the same time he pressed GWB to find ways to CUT
taxes. He has openly said that Taxcuts are the best
way to get rid of entitlements. Taxcuts is money that
is not taken in by the government. One day so little
money would be going into the government that they can
announce Entitlements have no money, we must stop Entitlement.
spending. They are over, gone.

This has never been discussed on Television (where most
Americans get their news). Meanwhile Norquist marches on
Starving the Beast.

Of course our party has become tax cut happy also. Primarily
because they will not confront the Republicans. Me too
I want to cut taxes too. Right now DLC, Blue Dogs
want to give the Wealthy the tax break that is so controversial

This stuff is not made up. Norquist wants to make the Fed.
Government so small it can be flushed down a commode. His
words not mine.

Ideology is important. If we had an
