Oh no. Rick Scott reportedly asked Michelle Rhee to run Florida schools.
That just gives me a chill. First Rick Scott, whose 2nd company is perhaps about to be investigated for Medicare fraud. Then Michelle Rhee?

Makes sense though since Jeb is still the power behind the curtains in Florida, and she fits Jeb's education policies perfectly.

Scott Reportedly Courting Michele Rhee To Be Next Florida School Boss

Will Michelle Rhee, the former Washington, D.C., schools chief, be Florida's next commissioner of education?

That's the scuttlebutt in Tallahassee.

Though current commissioner Eric Smith says he has no plans to step down, incoming Gov. Rick Scott is said to be courting Rhee, an aggressive reformer who took on the teachers' union in a campaign to clean up one of the most dysfunctional school systems in America.

..."Rhee's agenda dovetails with Scott's tough, competition-based approach to education. During her tenure, Rhee fired one-third of D.C.'s school principals, shut down dozens of failing schools and negotiated a teacher contract that contained performance-pay provisions. Both Rhee and Scott support charter schools as well as school vouchers.

Eric Smith is said to have served at Crist's pleasure, so I would imagine Scott would have no trouble getting rid of him and putting Rhee in control.

1. Man, that's terrifying.
And given the political situation in Florida, most would probably back Rhee. Gaaak!

6. ok, so they close 189 underperforming schools, fire 3/4
of the principals, screw the teachers out of their jobs and union, make parents grovel to get their kids in charter schools by paying for school vouchers as well as paying property taxes to cover public schools, What's the problem with that?

Our state is fucked, and I've been here a while, in fact a long time. Scott is worse than citrus canker and pythons released in the wild. Hell, he's gonna be worse than amazon pythons with citrus canker released in the wild.

By the end of his term, the first 4 years, there will be no more fun in the sun, just a bunch of poor folks tending to gated communities..

8. Good lord. I'm sorry.
She needs to retire. Permanently. Or go into a profession with no connections to education. :(
