Reagan secrets of the century

By CINDY ADAMS

Semi-literary stuff dribbling out about our 40th US president. Besides son Ron Reagan's book, comes another to commemorate the centenary of his February birth. Its author, someone named Michael Hodgson, claims his words came from someone named Michael Thomas, who is the son of someone named Patricia Roc. And who's she? In the '40s and '50s a hotshot British movie star. And he has her private papers and diaries. And much deals with Ronald Reagan.

Film historian Hodgson has just published "Patricia Roc, the Goddess of the Odeons." He alleges that, returning from the Army in '45, Reagan found that his first wife, Hollywood's Jane Wyman, had lost interest in him. Result? He suffered "a severe nervous breakdown and repeatedly threatened suicide."

Per this book, Roc, then 30 and co-starring in Universal's Western "Canyon Passage," was in a sexual relationship with Reagan, 34, since she was "concerned he might do something to himself if I didn't make him feel somebody wanted him because his wife sure as hell didn't." I guess you'd call it beneficent bonking.

Supposedly, in 1948 he proposed and presented her "the most beautiful ruby ring." She declined. Beneficent bonking begone. She found him "so damaged" after his divorce that he was "drinking and not able to perform sexually."

Hodgson says: "No doubt he was in love with her. But she was a gigantic star in Britain and then emotionally involved with other men."

Roc died in 2003, six months before Reagan. Until death, her drawing room featured a photo of them gazing into one another's eyes.

The Brit publisher is AuthorHouse.

.... Realtor Wallace Jordan reports the lead character in "Onassis," a play in London, says: "I'm f - - - ing Jackie Kennedy. I'm f - - - ing Maria Callas. And I'm f - - - ing rich." Shakespeare would be proud.
