Debt panel calls for second look at the public option
The chairmen of President Obama’s fiscal commission are calling for a second look at a robust government-run healthcare program, which Congress shelved last year following acrimonious debate.

Former Clinton White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles and former Sen. Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.), the chairmen of the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, suggested reviving the public option in the future if healthcare costs continue to soar.

They made the suggestion in a 50-page co-chairmen’s proposal released to reporters on Wednesday. It is one of many ideas for controlling the federal deficit that is likely to spark heated debate in Congress in the weeks and months ahead.

So, while everyone is up in arms about Social Security, there's at least a little bit of a silver lining to the report. I say we implement this recommendation first.

1. This is going to happen eventually...the current system is unsustainable.
That is why the HCR bill was a waste of time.

3. At least there's a bipartisan argument
That perhaps, someday we should consider maybe forming a study group to look at the possibility of perhaps forming a commission to may hold hearings on the need to consider a proposal where perhaps a public option should be considered, along with several other non-public-option solutions that would screw over the people while protecting our donors.

Boy, that's something to get excited about!!
