Republicans good for TV ratings...Joe and Mika et al don't dare mention why.

According to a "news" story this morning, the top rated television shows (Idol, Dancing With the Stars) tend to attract largely Republican audiences, while critically acclaimed but lower rated shows (Mad Men, Dexter) tend to draw Democrats. Of course, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why Joe and Mika wouldn't go there. In fact it only took Mike Barnical; "Because Democrats like to think about what they're watching."

The whole panel just stumbled and mumbled and looked at the ceiling and then quickly it was on to the next subject. Think about Joe's targeted audience and you'll understand why.

1. So that answers the question:
Why is Bristol Palin still on DWTS when she can't dance. Guess it's because it's mostly repukes watching the show and they are the ones voting for Bristol. They haven't yet figured out that Sarah isn't in the competition. Wish these people would get a clue that Sarah Palin is an idiot and so are they. Disclosure: I don't watch DWTS but read somewhere that Bristol is still there and making big bucks in the process.

3. Self-kicking, because I think there are some societal issues that are worth noting.
IOW, it seems that if you're not too bright, the GOP is your party. We say it here all the time, but there is little evidence to back it up. This appears to provide some of that evidence. Republicans watch Idol and Dancing with the Stars. Democrats watch shows about real things and real issues. Republicans just want to escape back to an era of Busby Berkley movies and old musicals, Democrats want reality. Real reality, not Survivor.

Just to be clear, I'm not trying to over-generalize. I realize there are probably many on this board who are entertained by Idol, Survivor and DWTS. The point is, we as an audience for these shows, are seriously in the minority. There is a reason for that. Draw your own conclusion.
