Sarah Palin attacks another strawman
She does this daily, and her thralls eat it up.

Great lines. Great visuals. And, as Politico pointed out, utter bullshit. There is no plan to ban sweets in classroom parties. The newspaper that made the claim is the right-wing Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and even they retracted the allegation.

Once again, Sarah Palin has tremendous problems with the truth. It's a disease she shares with much of the right these days. As Andrew Sullivan wrote yesterday, at the core of the right-wing movement is The Big Lie -- that under Obama, America is becoming totalitarian regime. And Palin's lie yesterday is one of the many small lies that make up that narrative.

1. Kids can take sweets to school?
Our school has a no sugar policy. It wasn't dictated by the government. It was a decision made by the principal and teachers. There have been numerous studies that show kids focus, perform and behave better when they eat nutritious food.

Personally I have no problem with it. It's the no peanut rule that kills me. My son is very skinny and loves pbjs. But you know allergies....many have them. Luckily he also like black beans and rice. :)

3. What a great roll model - not
Forget politics, damn common sense says that pumping sugar into kids will raise their blood sugar then drop it like a bowling ball. It directly affects their behavior, mental facilities, health, memory - this is scientifically proven!

My grandson's teacher BEGS parents not to send sugar to school with the kids.

Why does Sarah Palin hate children and want them to fail?
