If you had "7 days" and "earmarks" in the "how long will it take the new GOP to fissure, and what's the issue that will tear them apart" pool, you win.

But the bigger question is this: what's wrong with earmarks? Their impact on the budget is MINISCULE, and I like having clean streams to walk near. Now, whether or not my Congressman is the person that should be responsible for making sure those streams are clean is another story, but really, don't we all like pork? Bacon tastes good... pork chops taste good.

With over half the budget going to Defense (past, present and future) how can we ever address long term deficits.

Answer, we can not. But if they talk about earmarks, pork barrel spending, then people think give a flying fuck about the deficite.
