Back to a time when we didn't value the dollar so much. Back to a time when excess wasn't the standard. Back to a time when a community organizer was valued instead of ridiculed. Back to a time when education was of utmost importance in the household. Back to a time when neighbors looked out for one another. My brother calls me pie in the sky....maybe he is right, but I think this country needs a little more pie before we all starve.

I have gotten into quite a few arguments but I have to stand up for what I know is right. but do want to take us forward... our country was founded as a forward moving country and the tea party's "I want to take my country back" is silly on so many levels.

I want to go forward to a time and place where corporations do not rule... we were not meant to be a corporatocracy and that is what we have become

1760 to 1800 was a bunch uptight white guys that didn't want to pay their taxes in England, held slaves, and only wanted other white slave holding landholders to vote, creating the form of "democracy" that we sort of have; a corporate plutocracy where only the very wealthy have access to the people that make the actual decisions on laws, and who the armies are going to kill this week so that we can acquire the resources.
