Watch: Rachel Maddow comments on Olbermann suspension

During her Friday evening program, MSNBC's Rachel Maddow delivered a comment on that network's suspension of host Keith Olbermann for his unapproved donations to three Democratic candidates.

In the process, she also managed to zing The Daily Show's Jon Stewart for having drawn what many see as a false equivalence between Olbermann and the hosts of Fox News during last month's Rally to Restore Sanity.

Maddow began by laying out the many ways in which Fox News has supported Republicans, including donations by Fox hosts, explicit on-air endorsements, and participation in Republican fundraisers.

"You may have heard today that my colleague and friend Keith Olbermann was temporarily suspended from his job hosting Countdown on this network because he made three personal political donations to candidates in this last election cycle," Maddow remarked.

2. Let's throw her under the bus too!
How dare she appear on air?! If she was one of us, she (and all the other talent on MSNBC) would have gone on strike immediately. She must be a Quisling. :sarcasm:

5. She should have walked
Fine sentiments but actions speak louder than words. She should quit. Schultz and O'Donnell and Matthews too. Comcast is looking to get rid of them anyway. Where I am, Comcast has already dropped MSNBC from its regular lineup - just before the last presidential election. It's not just FOX. Corporate America is determined to turn all media into their obedient propaganda machine.

7. That's a ridiculous and unconstitutional policy
They have the right to contribute to whomever they please without asking "Mother may I?" first. When does an employer have the right to approve whom an employee can politically support? Without fear of losing their job? MSNBC has to approve all political contributions? You can give to her but not him?
