So Who AT MSNBC WILL STAND UP For Keith O???...Rachel...

....Or Lawrence O'Donnell......Is there anyone at that network that will put their show/job on the line to say to MSNBC SHOVE IT I won't do my show or at least I won't go a night without mentioning Keith's name on my show....

I think Rachel and Lawrence owe much of their success to Keith....

1. Why he broke a god damned rule. . .
. . .if he was fired I'd be up in arms, but he is suspended for violating policy.

5. Yes, he will be back after a slap on the wrist. I very seriously doubt they will fire him.
MSNBC depends on him to deliver ratings.

10. Hmm, you do realize that there is BIG money at stake?
and corporations don't make decisions just because someone violates a rule, which in this case is really pretty dumb since Olbermann has been backing candidates ON AIR for a couple of election cycles.

There is nothing inconsistent in his personal donations and the persona he plays on TEEVEE.

THIS IS AMERICA. The story ALWAYS follows the money. Someone has decided that it's in MSNBC's financial favor to do this.

2. True - though I expect they won't or can't
Rachel especially must be really in a quandry today. KO is somewhat a mentor for her.

11. If I were Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell
I'd invite Jay Rosen of PressThink on and open a discussion about the unrealistic expectations of objectivity with respect to journalism.

All of them now in danger and it would be interesting to see which one will defend Keith.

14. if I were Rachel or Lawrence or Chris...
... I'd be kind of pissed if I were expected to pay any kind of price for Keith's mistake.

I think MSNBC is overreacting (he should have had to go on air and explain what he did and explain why it was wrong--suspension without correcting what was done wrong doesn't seem like the best or most journalistically ethical solution). But I also don't think any other anchor is, or should even remotely feel, obliged to do anything to put their own jobs or careers at risk because he broke a rule in his contract.

16. That depends on whether or not their contracts permit them to comment on an HR matter
If they are like most employment agreements, probably not.

17. No one.
I'm sure everyone got a memo.:(

and they better be careful when they "tweet" & "facebook"..

Ed, Rachel & Ratigan are probably "on-notice".

Lawrence just got a new show, so he's probably "safe" for now, but if he spouts off too much, he'll be in trouble too..

"leaning forward" or "toeing the line"?
