The GOP must decide: Oppose Obama OR destroy public education
The DLC has made its disdain for (teachers unions) public education well known.
Now Obama and the DLC have the votes to destroy teachers unions across the country.
All the DLC needs to do is have the GOP come on board. I'm sure the senate won't back away from bi-partisanship.

The GOP must decide what is more important -
opposing Obama, defeating Obama
or
joining Obama to destroy the teachers unions.

Personally I see the GOP standing up for teachers and opposing Obama. What do you think?

2. ohio is leading the way...
more charters and regional school boards. yup the citizens will no longer control/vote for their local school board.

republicans will not stand up for the teachers. we know where obama stands on public education and the teachers unions.

3. Some decision. It has been a GOP goal to destroy public education for DECADES.
Ignorance feeds their base. There are plenty of private schools out there and if people can afford to send their kids to them they're probably already Republicans raising more Republicans and therefore deserve a voucher to offset the cost.

5. I don't remember who suggested this now, but on Amy's show yesterday
it was suggested that the administration would work with the GOP on "education reform" much as Bill Clinton worked with them on "welfare reform".

6. They already did. You haven't seen Jeb, Moron Joe, Newt, and even Pat Robertson
hand in hand with Duncan and Al Sharpton.

Don't count on be contrarian to pull the fat from the fire on this as it was decided this would be a certain bipartisan area as long as Obama didn't change the plan.

8. At this point I hope the Tea Party wins its goal of blowing up the federal Dept. of Education.
Obama is going to need to win in 2012 without teachers. I doubt he can do it. I won't vote R. But it appears he is going to continue selling us out so I'm not voting for him.

10. The GOP will support efforts to take public education down.
Why shouldn't they? They aren't giving Obama anything; he's been working to achieve THEIR goal for them.
