I really don't see much of what the repubs want coming into being. Neither party wants to be the one that that is known for messing up Social Security and taking food out of older citizens mouths, sending them to live on the street, or forcing them to die of old age on the job. Neither party wants to be known for messing up Medicare, which has given health care to the elderly for so long. Neither party wants to be known for throwing a woman, who was beaten, raped, and impregnated, into prison for having an abortion. Now that we have it, I don't see health care reform being revoked either. And let's hope they can keep their trigger fingers off the idea of going to war with Iran.

The biggest problem we have with the repubs is their loyalty to the wealthy over the middle class. One thing we can do is stop dealing with Wall Street banks and start dealing with neighborhood credit unions. You can even get a credit card through your credit union. We switched last year and it's great. Let's stop putting any more of our money in the pockets of the already wealthy than we have to. If we can avoid it, don't buy anything on credit. Save up and pay cash.

If the repubs won't put them in their place, we will have to do it ourselves. I know we can't make a huge difference doing these things, but it could start a trend and send a message.

Other than that, I see so much gridlock coming that the next two years will be wasted as far as doing anything that could really help this country. And as before, we will adjust to the madness until the next election day.

Here's an article about credit unions from last year: http://money.cnn.com/2009/12/29/pf/saving/credit_unions_vs_banks/
