Did Steny Hoyer oust Nancy Pelosi?
I have pretty much tuned out of political news since Tuesday night. I've spent the time working and ruminating. I had to be in the car for a while today. The news was talking about the dynamics if the new congress. In the story, the newsreader spoke about the contest between Boner and Hoyer. He mentioned them several time, but never mentioned Pelosi.

Has she been ousted? Resigned?

I am sure she's still Speaker for now, but the story was about the next Congress.

1. Pelosi = Worse Speaker In History
She stupidly said impeachment is off the table which is what enabled Bush and the Pukes to fuck up the USA without any impediment. Their reemergence was caused by her.

The case for Nancy Pelosi sticking around
Two days after the election, and she's still the Dems' leader. She's not thinking of staying, is she?

7. Nobody knows; the remaining blue dogs will probably challenge claiming they were hung out to dry
When the next Congress meets the Democratic caucus will elect a minority leader and whip; historically a Speaker who loses the majority generally doesn't get elected minority leader.

9. She's being urged to not run for MInority Leader. Thinking is, after such a bloodbath under her
watch, she'll be a terrible ambassador to recruit the much-desired "moderate" candidates to take back some of the seats lost. She had said Hoyer had promised her never run against her, but you know how that goes.

Could be a showdown between Hoyer and Shuler. What a choice.

6. Maybe a confusion because they have the same title right now

Hoyer is Boehnner's opposite number as majority and minority leader.

I have not heard anything and it would have been out there.

8. Oh, wait, are you asking if she's still Speaker now? Yes
And that's not going to change in the next 2 months; a turnover has enough chaos as it is.

12. Gotcha. Speakers who lose majorities don't have a history of becoming minority leader
But it all depends on whom the caucus elects in January.

minority leader or not.

Blue Dog Health Shuler is already saying he will challenge her if she runs. I haven't heard anything about Stoyer.

ETA: I just found this from the NYT
