Look at it this way: The Repugs always screw themselves.
They get in and then they completely blow it. It's happened before and it will happen this time, too. It's like Boehner stating that "the people have spoken!" What people is he taking about. Big business has spoken. Corporate America is just going to try and screw us all over again.

I feel badly. I'm in Missouri and we are back to mostly Republican everything. Again.

But I was listening to commentary on NPR and they said the Repugs couldn't throw the health care plan out - they don't have the votes. And if Obama vetoes a bill they don't have the votes to over ride the veto.

I think the economy is slowly, slowly getting back on its feet. I just hope the Repugs don't take credit for that (dumb, I know. Of course they will take credit). But I really hope that they don't ruin the economy comeback and send us into a deeper, darker place.

3. I'm an average person - about as average as you can get.
I have been caught six ways from Sunday by this economic collapse.

Its very worrisome. I have this fear that if I get sick or if I live too long I am just going to have to go find an ice flow to sit on until a polar bear eats me.

I never dreamed I would be facing old age like this.

2. Yup. Their agenda is even more ridiculous.....
and inappropriate than it was two years ago when they were given the boot for their astonishing ineptitude.

If it's true the GOP plan to spend their time trying to 'get' Obama, they are already on the road to alienating the people they conned into voting for them. And their victories were thanks largely to the elderly, who simply put, do not have a future.

In other words, this is a temporary gain for them and set back for us. We need to assume the GOP will shoot themselves in the foot, and focus on what the Democrats are doing.

5. Dems need to proclaim every gain we've made and do it loudly.
We are moving forward and if the gop isn't with us, we will still move forward, but with the drag, bump, drag, bump of a moribund gop tied to our leg. Now that's a message. State and restate the obvious. Spell it out over and over again. And if the media won't cooperate find a way to do an end around. American media from our earliest newspapers on has always been owned. What is happening today is not a new thing.

8. They screw themselves, but they end up screwing us at the same time.
Just bend over, baby.
