Ford takes aim at South Korean trade agreement
By BRENT SNAVELY
Free Press Business Writer

Ford is taking aim at South Korea’s trade policy in newspaper ads that will run in Washington, D.C. on Thursday as well as communities across the nation where the Dearborn automaker does business.

“The key message here is that the Koreans have to open their market to the U.S. automotive industry,” Steve Biegun, a Ford vice president, told the Free Press today. snip

For every 52 cars shipped to the United States from Korea, the U.S. can export only one, according to a copy of the advertisement.

General Motors, meanwhile, has remained neutral on the issue, said company spokesman Greg Martin. General Motors has operated plants in South Korea since it acquired most of Korean automaker Daewoo in 2002.

1. Well, they only have so many roadways - it isn't a big country.

2. So what? Do you hate Capitalism?
Look, many Americans at high levels were paid very handsomely for these insane trade deals. Bill Clinton alone has received something like $100 million from banks, trading concerns, and the like.

Why are you trying to take food out of the mouths of Clinton and the like? Capitalism means being free to do what you want in exchange for cash. You Liberals and your "laws" and "ethics" are destroying our freedoms.

3. Of course GM is neutral. I give you...the Chevrolet Aveo.
The rebadged Daewoo Kalos. Imported by GM to be sold to automotively passionless individuals. Or better yet, rented to folks at Hertz (and the like) as the subcompact (ie: deathtrap) choice.
