The unenforceable "threat"
Edited on Thu Nov-04-10 07:40 AM by SHRED

"Writing to the head of America's Health Insurance Plans, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said insurers that hike rates for consumer unjustifiably may be locked out from the state exchanges due to be set up by 2014. These exchanges will be the primary means by which small groups and individuals will purchase coverage. Being excluded from these marketplaces could be devastating to insurers."

Anthem blamed rate hikes on the Bill at my workplace and many other's I have heard about.
Where is the hotline to report this abuse? I couldn't find one.

LOL...apparently Ms. Sebelius doesn't understand who actually runs the show.

ON EDIT:
Maybe she really doesn't want to know about the abuse.

1. 2014. Meanwhile, they can hike rates through the stratosphere
between now and then, without penalty, so that rates are already astronomically, unaffordably high well before that clause kicks in.

My insurance rates increase 30% on October 1st, and my deductible tripled.

2. and think about how ridiculous this threat is

If the major carriers violate it (and they have) then who will be left for this "pool" they talk about in 2014?

Insurance corporations must have gotten a good laugh out of this one.

3. Exactly correct. Plus, they have legal cartel status and can collude
All they have to do is lockstep and they can do damn well as they please with no repercussions.

Even after 2014 this will remain the paradigm in place. Our people are either flat out fucking stupid, horribly crooked, or both.

A precocious three year old would figure their way out of this wet paper bag of an enforcement system.

Fucking nimrods.
