4. K&R for the cute (in a good way) post. :)

A much better/practical idea would be to get rid of the antidemocratic anachronism of the Electoral College, though.

Abolish the darn thing, seriously; it belongs in the garbage pile of history along with other antidemocratic abominations, courtesy of the Founders.

6. You're assuming the people make the places rather than the other way around
I'm not so sure of that.

9. Putting out our message is clearly not a workable strategy
I don't know, but the response to "repeal Obamacare" could have been, "And bring back pre-existing conditions?" Short, sweet, to the point, but I don't know that I heard it said more than a couple of times, whereas I heard "repeal Obamacare" several times a day, every day for weeks.

Oh, the horrors of the stimulus! You mean the one the Bush administration tried to ram through Congress? Or the Democratic plan, which has actually held the banksters accountable, and that has been paid back, with interest? If you're looking for responsible handling of the people's money, it was the Democrats, not the Republicans, who kept an eye on the bottom line.

But these arguments were apparently too hard to make, and the party pooh-bahs were just fine with the Blue Dogs running away from the Democratic record and accomplishments because they didn't have the belly to try to counter the yammering class. Well, the Blue Dogs got their reward, didn't they?

10. I agree! Seriously agree. Come to Florida. 27 electoral votes.
To big, to important to write off.

I wish we could start the experiment here, see how it goes, then do the same in another state....
