So, did Tim Kaine resign today?
Usually, when the leader of a political party leads the party
to such a spectacular defeat as Tim Kaine led us into last
night, they resign immediately afterwards.

Did he do so today?

And if he didn't have the honor and decency to "do the right
thing" himself, has he been shown the door? Or are we still
paying this incompetent's salary and letting him make (bad)
decisions?

4. Why did Dean ever leave
He did an unbelievable job with the 50 state strategy. He handed the GOP it's ass on a platter, as even they admit.

Wish he was nominated in 2004, and elected.

7. Read that Rahm didn't want him
to be any part of the administration. Rahm is the one who insisted that the wins in '06 and '08 were his not Dean's.

20. I think he'd be good as Mayor actually
Horrible as part of Obama's staff - but damn nice as a Mayor - think about it - when the shit hits the fan in that city, you want someone to explode with veins bulging from their temples.

30. ALL OF DEAN's people got SACKED after the 2008 election. No one here said a word.
Dean played a good soldier, on pain of ostracism from the White House.

33. What are you talking about?
A lot of folks here felt burned and said so

Also, many felt that this would ultimately spell doom for our party. Guess what, they were right.

6. Keith just said that
the administration said the changes had been made already, not to expect many more. Didn't sound like he was ready to fire anyone over the lose of the House.
The WH hasn't really gotten the message from last night, it's going to be more of the same.

14. Or maybe a square D to make the party seem more traditional.
That circle might be too sleek for some older folks.

That bastard!

Wait, outsourcing is doing something. You can put it on your resume. Ask Carly Fiorina.

If Kaine had any honor, he'd take the blame for the disaster and resign.

21. So the standard is now "Successfully led the party to a not-quite unmitigated disaster"?
That sounds like a winning plan to me!

On to 2012 where we'll try to retain a couple of Sheriffs
and judgeships!

22. Reps needed filibuster proof majority in the House and they needed to win the Senate, OOPS!
They got neither.

Like I say I am no Tim Kaine fan, but honestly we knew historically that Dems would lose seats this midterm. I am not quite seeing how this is a "fireable offense". At least in my county the ground game was pretty darn good.

31. Watch and see -- I'll bet they manage to overcome quite a few Democratic threats of...
...a Senate filibuster. They'll do it because 1) we don't
actually have the spine to back-up our threats and 2)
quite a few folks who are allegedly on our side will
still support the Republicans, either because our folks
are stupid, voting out of political expediency, or are
outright turncoats.

And the ground game may have been good in your area,
but here in New Hampshire, it was completely incompetent.
Any of us could have done a better job.

23. Is this precedent you talk about even real?
Party committee chairmen stepping down after a loss in one chamber of Congress?

In parliamentary systems it is pretty common for the PM to step down after their government falls, but not really an analogous situation here, so maybe you should go shake Nancy Pelosi's tree?

Kaine is the leader of a party committee, not the Democratic Party. Either way while we hold the WH, Kaine essentially serves at the pleasure of the president.
