It would be nice if California could cut off the Red states from receiving
our tax dollars since they hate the transferring of wealth so much.

2. We don't want to punish you but
It's annoying when these candidates like Rand Paul and Joe Miller carry on about being victims of the Federal Government when they get back from the Feds more than they give, here in CA, we give more than we get! It's like OK, people who elect Rand Paul, reject some of our yucky money then!

8. It's a fair point
they think government is "obtrusive". Fine, then we'll remove government from their lives.

10. Californians pay higher taxes than almost any other Americans.

We get screwed on the distribution of federal tax revenues. When Reagan was pres, we got $1 back for every $1 we paid in fed tax. We now get $.76 back for every $1. That translates into $48 BILLION a year that goes to DC from CA and ends up paying for those bridges to nowhere, repaving a highway for the 4th time in 10 years in WVa and pasting over state budget shortfalls elsewhere.

I'm getting tired of hearing how "disfunctional" CA is when practically every state in the Union benefits from the hard work of Californians in the form of redistributed tax revenues.

I'll make a deal with you red state types: CA doesn't get back less than 90% of what we send to the Feds and you don't get over 110% of what you send to the Feds. CA could well live within such a budget, even with 10% of our $ going to others. Let's see how many red states could live within their budgets with a mere extra 10% in $ coming from CA, rather than the 200%+ that some states get in Fed revenue from what they pay in.

Return but 90% of the Fed taxes Californians pay in one year and we would erase our budget deficits for the past 5 years. Continue to give us 90% back and we'll be in the black for as far as the eye can see.

14. I ownder why CA pols don't make this a standard issue.
Maybe because they don't really care, or they feel the system can't be changed. Well, it can be changed - it's changed for the worse since Reagan was pres, so it can also change for the better, IF someone makes it an issue.

9. Uh-huh
Keep telling yourself that...

You can make all sorts of wonderful excuses, but the facts are the facts. Cali voted against civil rights and recreational freedom.
