We wouldn't have heard the end of it for months.

It would have been replayed for hours on end.

It might count him the Speakership. The freshman owe him nothing and if 30-40 GOP reps coalesce around someone then it could get interesting.

This guy obviously doesn't have the intellect for it but more importantly he doesn't have the TV presence.

2. What matters is the relationships he has in his caucus.
Demint has said he will not challenge the Boner. I think it is a safe bet that he will be the next speaker.

12. She was considering a presidential candidacy in 1988 or so
Edited on Wed Nov-03-10 02:17 AM by Ken Burch
then she decided she couldn't get enough fundraising together and called it off. She got choked up at the press conference, and the mediafiozzi declared that this proved she(and by extension all female politicians)were too "weak and emotional" to be president.

This might possibly explain why HRC felt obligated to be more militaristic than any other Dem candidate in '08.

With the MSM, I think party matters even more than gender... :grr:

16. Muskie's was especially rotten
since it was a set-up.

Then there was Gore's "personality changes" in 2000. Who's he gonna be next?

No one said a peep when Dubya went from out-of-it nitwit, to unhinged ranter, to genial boob in the 2004 debates.
