America is going to pay a huge price for being slow learners.
What's America's logic here? "Our country's in terrible shape, so the sensible thing to do is vote for people who have the exact same economic and societal policies of ruination as their Republican predecessors did, because I just KNOW they'll be better!!"?

(wince) Thank you sir, may I have another?

When the hell is America going to kick it's addiction to the right-wing?

1. This country deserved McCain and the depression his policies would have brought.

7. Well no, nobody deserves that.
Remember, we actually care about people. Republicans think that way but we actually try to help people despite their ignorance.

10. Yes they did. No bailouts, let 30 years of debt
bleed out. People then would be ready for the type of change that FDR brought.

17. I don't believe in collective punishment.
I might have to settle for it anyway, but there's no "deserve" in the suffering a lot of people will experience.

25. Congrats to Colorado
I always knew Colorado was really a blue state.

And I have every faith that our Governor Jerry Brown will do what he did when I was a youngster -- restore California to all it can be.

4. It's the power of propaganda and the enormous amount of money that keeps the propaganda
front and center and prevents the truth from ever being heard.

6. Our City manager once said that public records requests, or was it Sunshine
Laws, was for when a City was already developed. The implication was that they wanted to have the ability to break the law without suffering ramifications for their actions. It was good for the economy, though only a few benefited from the work. And because it is a white community, they got away with it.

9. We haven't suffered enough yet.
So now the Republicans have to pony up a Budget resolution that matches their rhetoric (taxcuts, defense increases, and budget cuts) - lets see how that bottom line costs the taxpayers in the middle-class.

18. They sold a fairy tale that Americans wanted to hear
and pretend it's possible. No tax raises, balanced budgets, and economic growth. Let's see if they can deliver (I highly doubt it).

I've watched this process repeat itself for more years than I care to discuss. It's distressing.
