One of the very few bright points (for me, anyway) tonight.

Sorry about Florida everyone. I'm surrounded by idiots, I really am. WE are (recognizing I'm not the only Dem or DUer here).

2. That is a bright point.
I shouldn't have logged in tonight at DU to see the returns from the east coast; I'm going to have insomnia worrying about the Oregon governor's race, which won't be decided until long after my bedtime.

and yes, sorry for florida. burr won here in nc. but there is still some good news out there. i'm getting all my news from DU because i surfed over to the msnbc page and it was plastered with republicans and their prediction that the house will fall to the repukes. and i do mean fall.

25. It's been that way for years for him
He stood virtually alone in opposing Afghanistan and Iraq, and took major flak for standing up for basic principles rather than "practicality."

He's tough though. I wish he was Primarying in 2012, but I wouldn't want that headache either.

8. Thank you so much for posting!
Dennis is irreplacable... I'm hoping for the same result for my congressman here in NY-20. I made GOTV calls for him and knocked on doors tonight until 8:15. It's going to be close here, so every vote counts... *fingers crossed* :hi:

11. I am a native of Florida
So sorry that so many people in Florida are now just as bad as people in Arkansas where I live now, also surrounded by idiots. When I was growing up, Florida used to be so very blue. I even met Bob Graham. He was an awesome guy! (governor of Florida, then later became a senator)

I am so sad about the loss of Alan Grayson. He's one of my faves. But I won't give up on him. I know he's not in your district so I imagine that people in his are just morans!

Rick Scott...Yuk Yuk Yuk!!!

20. Great news, and Marcy Kaptur also.
But each year they have fewer and fewer people to work with them.

I'm just glad they're there. I hoped two years ago would be increasing the number of Progressives in Congress.

22. Dennis is what a rep should be.
He's willing to fight. Even when he loses, he gets back up and fights again.

He earned his seat many times over, so he stays in office even with both parties attacking him.
