Lawrence O'Donnell just scared the living shit out of me.
I won't even paraphrase. Rand Paul has the power to set the world to a Depression and pretty much vowed to do it in his victory speech.

He can just filibuster and put anonymous holds on everything. Because of parliamentary procedure, he can single handedly grind the Senate to a halt. And he's stupid enough and batshit crazy enough to do it, and to be proud of himself afterwards.

My mouth dropped. Rand will capitulate to the GOP when all is said and done, though. But my hope is that he'll be done in by his hubris.

29. He'll be visited by folks he won't say no to. The debt ceiling will be
raised. Wall Street runs this country; this country will not technically default.

6. Paul sounded drunk to me.
I spose it's just drunk with power. Made me think of that character played by Andy Griffith in the movie.

10. No, he clarified...Paul will vote no but 51 Senators will pass it.
Repubs won't be close to a majority in the Senate.

It'll be quite interesting to watch the tea baggers contend with the old guard repukes. May have to get some extra butter with the popcorn with that one.

And the GOP party line will corral him in pretty quickly or he'll refuse to play ball and start calling them out....Either way it could be quite entertaining.

fuck us in the ass. That's harsh. But I DO believe it.
