7. It might not be entirely for nothing.
Corporations are taking a rather big risk, here. Not only do they risk losing hundreds of millions for no result, they also risk severe repercussions should they fail to take control of one or both houses of Congress.

That, in turn, might dissuade corporations from dumping money into politics for awhile. At the moment they seem to believe that with enough money, they're going to get what they want. But if they discover that by wagering any money, they're going to get a negative result, then all of a sudden the GOP's only major financial backing (besides Saudi Arabia and the UAE) has to stand back and consider what they're risking by choosing a side.

Whatever the case, we need to make these next two years absolute hell on every major corporate backer of the GOP.
