I actually liked what Keith O. had to say.
During the campaigns leading up to the '08 elections, I watched CNN, MSNBC, and yes...FOX. What I found was that FOX did in fact lie, stretch the truth, and well, you know the scenario that I found. I couldn't believe that people actually fall for their crap.
CNN was okay at first. I loved Anderson Cooper and the way Larry King would try to keep control of the noise machine of guests. But over these passed few years, they let Repubs off the hook time and again. When Cooper tried to "hammer" Grayson in an interview, that did it for me. CNN is no longer on my TV.

It was MSNBC with Keith and then later, Rachel, that I found truth to back up their stories. I could easily go online a find that they were dealing with facts. And their anger and frustration mimicked my own, even when it would be against Dems that didn't seem to stand up for us. I now include Schulz and sometimes Matthews (when I can tolerate him), and love Lawerence's new show.

I can see why Keith and Ed are bent out of shape over the Rally lumping them in with FOX. I sure wouldn't want that. I'm a bit surprised over the "Worsts" segment being discontinued temporarily and maybe permanently. So maybe the message didn't get lost. Time will tell.

1. I missed the first part of what Keith said - did they suspend "Worsts" because...
...of what Stewart said?

I was at the rally and hated seeing Keith and Big Eddie lumped in with the Fox sociopaths.

4. He said Worsts started...
...as a way to defend Tucker Carlson??? It was never meant to stay on Countdown, but just kind of "stuck there." I find it enjoyable, so I'm sad to see it go.

2. Well it had a candy coating. You have to chew/think a bit to get to the broken glass center.

5. Ask Tucker Carlson or Rick Sanchez
If Keith worked for CNN, they probably would have fired him already. :(

(and no, I don't actually think Jon has that much power, but it's kinda odd how quick those two got dumped after he called them out. Of course Sanchez deserved it, and Carlson's an asshole, but that doesn't mean CNN aren't cowards.)

6. He was the FIRST person in the msm to speak out against the Bush/Cheney crimes.
And during the time President Clinton was being dragged through the mud 24/7 with the shallowest of reporting I'd ever seen, Keith was the one to stand up to corporate powers-that-be & say he would no longer participate in the dirty work. That took courage & integrity at that time to stand up & do what was right.

I'll always remember that Keith was there for us.

11. DU and Free Republic both should be put together
certainly the name calling and outrage, with the other forms of hate. Both are just the same and we can never get together because we all are just a bunch of haters. :sarcasm:

Of course there are differences but then when you can generalize it is easier, you know like all blacks are alike, all Mexicans are illegal and such.

12. You know what?
I've seen stuff said here that's very similar to stuff said on free republic. There actually IS a fringe left that often overreacts before getting the full story and the facts. I've been lurking for years here and seen it time and again.

Do I think it's as BAD as free republic? No. But some of it IS unfounded and fueled by the same type of hatred that fuels many of the freepers.

I think those who are unwilling to admit this are wearing blinders.

13. DU also has its "Truths, which must not be questioned."
And subjects not to be raised.

And people who will do their damndest to turn certain discussions into contentless slanging matches.
