I have no idea about what might be effective. I know what I'd *like* to do, but that's not realistic.

The media has been a pox on our nation since the late 1990s, at least.

Without media framing, Al Gore would have been seated in 2000.

Without media framing, Idiot Son may never have gotten his war on.

Without media framing, John Kerry;s war record would have been an asset in his run for president.

Without media framing, the teabaggers would never have become as remarkably strong while remaining so criminally ignorant.

And the media is doing it again. Or still.

What the hell can be done about it? You know what scares me? John Stewart and Stephen Colbert are media artifacts. They would not have been there if they served no purpose to the media's owners. Are we that owned? Are we that manipulated? Are we that complacent?

Yes.

So what can we do?

1. Stop watching them, and email them and tell them why...hit them in the wallet -
it is ALL they understand.
Put it all over the internet, and make a boycott movement out of it.

Fuck those whores in the MSM - they deserve NO consideration.

2. Prove it wrong.
GOTV. Show that the media is not the be all and end all of what is happening in this country.

Make this "GOP landslide" it keeps talking about nothing more than an a paper cut.

3. 'but cable's not mainstream media', until the same faces show up on the Today Show
which they do.

hell stinky, i don't know what we do.

we eliminated the fairness doctrine.

there is no requirement for any truth in our media.

people seek out their own truth.

righties listen to faux and lefties listen to m$nbc at night.

we live in our own echo chambers.

what to do.....

4. Believe it or not one of the most effective things: Write an old
fashioned letter--you know snail mail. Be respectful but
make your points clearly.

There is something about people taking the time to sit
down and write a letter that moves people. Works for
Politicians very well.

Each letter should be an orignal. Form letters can be
discounted.

5. Stewart & Colbert are amusing comedians to watch -
but don't forget they are also multi-millionaires at this point (or close to it). They have incentive to push the status quo (ie all the talk about "compromise"). Note - do we ever see the owners compromising?

6. No constantly bombard Obama with a demand to change
the head of the FCC and for every republican entrenched in that organization be moved to a job where they have no authority. If the FCC had spine fox would be fined out of business. And how about all the racist rants by Rush and the libel by Drudge and Malkin and Bretbumb. Those lies are written. If the FCC was doing their job these people would clean up their act of or lose their licenses.

7. One must be careful with their demands....
As it can be a double edged sword.

Then theres that pesky 1st Amendment.

What you are soliciting is censorship of the highest order, and would result in catastrophic electoral backlash.

Statements such as these are utilized by the opposition to demonstrate a lack of fundamental constitutional knowledge.
They are also used with great effectiveness in demonstrating a "radical Democrat" mentality.

Try not to allow your obvious passion inadvertently poison the parties name, but never stop fighting!
