a rally and then to ChiTown for a rally tonight.

He's campaigning. He already gave the rally his blessing. :)

The whole exercise is right on the edge of the whole "all politicians are liars -- don't vote, it only encourages them -- we're too cool for school" ironic-detachment vibe for my taste anyways. A lot of the older Comedy Central hands are/were into that.

the crowd is clearly left-wing, and the main thrust of the rally is to bring sanity back into political discourse, not that "all politicians are liars."
