Edited on Fri Oct-29-10 11:00 PM by 2Design

Most people don't realize how close they were to Succeeding when they gave up.
Learn Persistence and Commitment in ALL that you do!

Meek said he is in this for the long haul during a press conference tonight that said Crist called him at 4:30am trying to get him to drop - Crist is a repuke, through and through. I thought he was left, then he got governor and it became very clear he is right. Just like McCain where whatever looks good at the time and in the end you get a right winger

3. I am not going to let UR FEAR stop me from voting for a DEMOCRAT - I will not be like our congress
or POTUS and run away from what is right - We did not get the public option and a lot of other stuff out of FEAR for this mid term - but we are still getting all the negative ads as if we did something LEFT or LIBERAL instead of CENTRISTS - sorry congress is FEARFUL and it will cost them for being wimps and not working for the people

I am voting for someone who believe in the people and not some right wing person in sheeps clothing - he said SArah Palin was qualified and that proves to me he is not sane or thoughtful in his thinking - tough - I am willing to make the right decision and not the FEARFUL on

4. Write On
Anyway, as for fear, rubio talks bad but this crist fellow is bad. Rubio will be a minor problem in DC, crist would be a major pain in the ass because he's been in high politics for so long.

Meek is our kind of democrat, and not supporting him to the hilt is foolish.

11. Good for you! Fear, the whole country runs on fear and if that was
a successful way to run a country, then why are we in the mess we are in? If I could, I would vote for him too.

I'd love to try something new, like doing what is right and see what happens for a change.

Meek denies he ever intended to quit and believes that the rumor was spread to force him out of the race. Wrote about it last night in this OP http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9411447

At least now he's getting some television coverage.

5. Can you believe the crist support here?
Unbelieveable. They get away with destroying Meek, trying to make Meek supporters look like Rubio supporters and in general destroy democratic unity and yet they post on and on and on?

6. I know, I am getting as close to fed up with DU as I have ever been
I thought we were supposed to support Democratic candidates and not advocate for Republicans here. And Kendrick Meek is the kind of Democrat that I thought most people here want. Far too many are either buying the Rubio & Crist ads against Meek or they are trolls here to undercut support for Meek. I have deliberately not paid attention to who the leaders of the anti-Meek mantra are - otherwise I would probably get myself banned for ad hominem attacks.

I voted for Meek on Wednesday!

7. It is sucky
I could see allowing Crist support here if it could have any bearing on the outcome of the race in Florida.

Since that ain't gonna happen, the next position should be one that steers toward making sure that the principles of being a democrat are upheld, and in taking a longer range view.

Long range is that Meek is going to be around for a long time. And in recognizing that he is more like us than Crist will ever be. So support for Meek should be a no-brainer.

The support for the 'viable' candidate, Crist, undermines our principles as democrats. And has caused a great divide here as evidenced by the angst of many members over the allowance of this Crist support.

This is no time for fence sitting, and we have frequently taken sides time and again on issues.

The easy decision, were it mine, would be to stick with our kind of candidates through thick or thin. Til death do us part, as it were. And disallow support that undermines Meek.

10. That's what I told Skinner
See my journal for the whole reply.

I hope I never have to wade through this kind of bs on DU again.
But in two years, who knows.

8. It's way too late for anyone to drop out. The die has been cast.
Even if the E-day ballots weren't finalized, which they are, hundreds of thousands of Floridians have already cast votes. We just need to accept that this is going to be a 3 way split, and it's probably going to hand it to Rubio.
