The news story we all knew was coming.

If the Repubs win the House, then Barack Obama will have no choice but to work with them. People are tired of the gridlock in Washington. They want the Republicans and the President to work together.

And they have just the perfect starting place. The Bush taxcuts!

The Repubs want to make the taxcuts for the wealthy permanent. The President wants to extend them for the middle class and let them expire for millionaires and billionaires. So they will search for a "compromise". How about we extend them for two years? Isn't that a fair compromise?

The President will be pressured to go along with the Repubs. It will do nothing to help our economy. It will add hundreds of billions of dollars to our already monstrous debt burden. Common sense would tell him to veto such an idea. But will he?

Most likely, the Democratic Party will have less members agreeing with the Republicans because most of those will be the victims in the next election. The President may have a minority in the Congress but they will be on his side.

The media will play this story over and over to make it appear the Democrats are the ones causing the obstruction. But let them. The President should sign nothing that does harm to our country or our fragile economy. The Bush taxcuts is the wrong place to begin to look for bi-partisanship but the Repubs are obsessed about it.

14. I've felt this way for a long time. What will it

be like in a few years for my grandchildren? They are growing up with this crap being flung at them all the time. I hate the term the media is using about "measuring drapes for the White House" and how Boehner will be Speaker of the House, etc. There needs to be a more ferocious media watchdog.
