Watch as Congressman Gohmert goes ballistic when Anderson Cooper questions his 'terror baby' misinformation. Given Gohmert's histrionics after being called out on his disingenuous assertions regarding 'terror babies,' his response to Christian Cutler is not surprising. Apparently, Congressman Gohmert feels justified using the full weight of his political office to attack anyone who disagrees with him.

4. Sadly, there are people who use their political office and

the machinery of government to silence their critics and opponents.

Sadly, a fair number of people support this kind of chicanery and corruption. I've repeatedly been disgusted by seeing this attitude on the part of those I disagree with and saddened upon seeing this attitude displayed by those I agree with.

Even more sadly, I don't know whether there are more on the right or the left. I suppose it depends on which has a higher percentage of the population at the time and the degree of polarization, the degree to which crushing the "enemy" becomes a bedrock principle and a kind of civic virtue.
