We really, really enjoyed having her up here. Unfortunately, they had to leave immediately after the show for the airport since they will be in Las Vegas tomorrow, so we didn't get to hang out, shake hands, etc. It was good enough just being there, though.

Shannyn said they literally had thousands of requests for tickets, but could only give out 200, I think I was very lucky.

Thank you for sharing! I thoroughly enjoyed today's show. Rachel is always great, but I think she was exceptional in reporting what's going on in Alaska and it was obvious that she really enjoyed being there, too. So glad you could be there, lucky you! :applause:

3. As soon as Shannyn announced on her radio show

that Rachel was coming and she could only give away 200 tickets, I sent my e-mail request. That was about 11:15. By noon they were all gone. I was lucky indeed.

And she certainly did the right thing by giving you a ticket. These are great pix! I particularly enjoyed her conversations with Tank, an amusing and very smart guy, and her "interview" with Joe Miller. He did not come off well. What's up with him anyway? He looks like he just came off a three day drunk... :shrug: :eyes:

Wow! Great pictures. EXIF showed you shooting at ISO 1000 basically in cave lighting. I'll bet you had a great time too. I watched the show and enjoyed it thoroughly. Thanks for the first-hand account.

7. Yep, the camera's a beast.

My husband really, really spoiled me with that one. He's impulsive that way.

It's wonderful in low-light situations, especially with the fast lenses.

29. Kind thoughts back at you and that whole Photo group. It's always been about sharing.

I think soon after you began posting people there saw your talent. Happily Hullboss was another who saw that better gear would be put to good use, and was able to provide it. Otherwise, the rest of us there would have been wanting to, maybe to the point of taking action, give you the better tools somehow.

F.Gordon was a real treasure, and a great loss to DU. PO'd some mod or whatever. But a good heart and soul and a brilliant mind.

He would teach by example, trying and inquiring and testing. 31. I had so hoped to meet F. Gordon when we were down in Colorado

last month, but even though we had talked about it beforehand, I was never able to get hold of him. Business must have taken him and his wife out of town. Maybe next time...

It was a really good show. I enjoyed hearing the perspective of the older gentleman who helped to write AK's state constitution & it was good to see Shannon Moore, too.

Tank served as a good ambassador for the state, too. Very likable.
