NOW WE KNOW - Confirmed -Assailant is Kentucky Paul Campaign Official - Tim Profitt
Edited on Tue Oct-26-10 04:22 PM by kpete
Now we know why Rand Paul spent the past twelve or so hours blaming the vicious assault of Lauren Valle by his supporters on "both sides" and a "daze of lights flashing" -- because one of the assailants is Tim Profitt, the Bourbon County coordinator for Paul's campaign.

Here's Rand Paul and his good friend Tim "I assault women" Profitt:

Guess who's endorsement they tout at the bottom of the page from Bourbon County:
Tim Profitt, the Curbstomper.

Oh, and Paul didn't mention that he has a full-page ad in today's Herald Leader, proudly touting, among others, the endorsement and support of Tim Profitt.

..............

One of the assailants in the assault in Kentucky appears to be a Paul campaign official, Tim Profitt of Paris, Ky.

So, it looks like the Paul campaign likely knew who he was... and said nothing.

AP:

LEXINGTON, Ky.—A Rand Paul supporter is apologizing after he was seen on video stepping on a liberal activist's head.

Tim Profitt, a volunteer with the Republican's U.S. Senate campaign, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that the camera angle made the scuffle Monday night appear worse that it was. He criticized police for not stepping in and says other supporters warned authorities about the activist.

Lauren Valle, a 23-year-old with the group MoveOn.org, was wrestled to the ground by Paul supporters when she tried to confront the tea party favorite with a fake award. Valle said Tuesday she was sore and swollen.

The Paul campaign cut ties with Profitt, removing him from his role as Bourbon County campaign coordinator and banning him from campaign events.

2. that's not true. Rand Paul did so do something about it...
fired Profitt, banned him from events and ran like hell from the story. Just not fast enough or far enough for the internets to catch up with him, though

and so another teaparty flash in the pan bites the dust....
