Christian Coalition irate! "Cindy Sheehan not arrested, US Capitol spray painted!"
Political Correctness Runs Wild on Capitol Hill with New Congressional Leadership in Place; Anti-War Protestors Spray-Paint the United States Capitol with No Arrests

Cindy Sheehan disrupts and forces Capitol Hill news conference to be cancelled with no arrests.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 31 /Christian Newswire/ -- Political correctness runs wild on Capitol Hill D.C. with new congressional leadership in place. Anti-war protestors spray-paint the United States Capitol with no arrests. Cindy Sheehan disrupts and forces Capitol Hill news conference to be cancelled with no arrests.

Meanwhile, pro-life activists detained by United States Capitol Police for using children's sidewalk chalk on Capitol Hill public sidewalks. And, pro-life leaders denied entrance to Speaker Pelosi's Open House at the Cannon House Office Building by police officers.

It now appears with Nancy Pelosi as the new Speaker of the House anti-war protestors will be given immunity while those who disagree with the Speaker and the new leadership will be targeted.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Coalition, comments, "It is essential that all Americans be treated with equality and justice regardless of their political viewpoint. Sadly, it seems this is not the case with Speaker Pelosi and the new democratic leadership. Anti-war protests are allowed to spray paint the United States Capitol and disrupt news conferences with impunity and no fear of reprisals. At the same time, pro-life activists are treated in a completely different manner.

"Does anyone believe if a pro-life or Christian activist had spray-painted the United States Capitol or disrupted a news conference that they would not have been immediately arrested? The message that Speaker Pelosi is sending is a tragic one. If you are anti-war and agree with Speaker Pelosi's agenda, you will be protected. If you disagree with that agenda, you will be targeted. No American should be treated like a second-class citizen or intimidated by their government because of their political beliefs."

10. welcome to DU-- wow, and you just happened to find the one person in this thread who would agree
with you! isn't that nice?

there is not one shred of proof that the story as presented is even remotely true, up to and including the numbers at the woman-hating anti-choice rally misnamed "pro-life"

if all of you are PRO-LIFE, why in the HELL weren't you out there with us marching AGAINST the terrible waste of lives that is the illegal, unjust and immoral Bush war?

7. Hogwash!! The reverend sins by omission.
Here he makes up a hypothetical situation:
(My emphasis)

"Does anyone believe IF a pro-life or Christian activist had spray-painted the United States Capitol or disrupted a news conference that they would not have been immediately arrested?"

And this is propaganda manufactured out of whole cloth:

"The message that Speaker Pelosi is sending is a tragic one. If you are anti-war and agree with Speaker Pelosi's agenda, you will be protected. If you disagree with that agenda, you will be targeted."

And here the reverend blatherspake has omitted to remember that anti-war activists, including Cindy Sheehan, HAVE already been arrested on multiple other occasions and "treated" exactly like he here preaches against:

"No American should be treated like a second-class citizen or intimidated by their government because of their political beliefs."

ACT I

Anti-war protesters spray paint Capitol building
By Jackie Kucinich

Anti-war protesters were allowed to spray paint on part of the west front steps of the United States Capitol building after police were ordered to break their security line by their leadership, two sources told The Hill.

According to the sources, police officers were livid when they were told to fall back by U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) Chief Phillip Morse andDeputy Chief Daniel Nichols. "They were the commanders on the scene," one source said, who requested anonymity. "It was disgusting."---------------------------
Approximately 300 protesters were allowed to take the steps and began to spray paint "anarchist symbols" and phrase such as "Our capitol building" and "you can’t stop us" around the area, the source said.

ACT II opened right on time....

Take Action: Ask Congress - Are Left-Wing Vandals Above the Law?
January 29, 2007

This past weekend anti-Bush protestors marched on Washington. While the few thousand who showed up paled in comparison to the hundreds of thousands who marched for life earlier in the week, the anti-Bush protestors were given unprecedented access to the U.S. Capitol grounds, and some of them used that access to publicly deface taxpayer's property. According to the local newspaper, The Hill, the protesters were allowed to take the Capitol steps and they began to spray-paint "anarchist symbols" and phrases such as "Our capitol building" and "You can't stop us" around the area.

For any other group, such acts would mean immediate arrest. This time, the Capitol police's hands were tied because they were ordered to stand down by their Chief of Police, who answers to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). To add insult to injury, public employees had to come in on their day off, at taxpayer's expense, to clean up the mess the protestors left behind. (View this video <http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=LK07A109&f=AL07A05&t=e > to see evidence of the vandalism.) The vandals clearly broke federal law. According to the U.S. Code, "f the damage exceeds $100, the defendant is subject to a fine of up to $250,000, ten years imprisonment, or both . . When property damage does not exceed $100, the offense is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $100,000, one year imprisonment, or both."

According to the news reports the rank and file police officers were "livid" that they were ordered not to arrest anyone. Since the Capitol police answer to Speaker Pelosi, the question arises, did the Chief of Police give the "no arrest" order or did it come from someone else? Whoever is responsible for the order needs to explain why the physical destruction of taxpayer property is acceptable.

Please e-mail Speaker Pelosi's office and ask her to find out why no attempt was made to halt or arrest these vandals. If the U.S. Capitol has a new policy on such acts, does it apply to everyone - or just to those whose views the majority in Congress favors?

...and I thank-you for providing ACT III...and one can hope...the end. I've seen enough. The script seems badly written...rather flat. The story line a tad out-dated. A flop in my opinion.

11. No American should be treated like a second-class citizen
or intimidated by their government because of their political beliefs, as long as you're a white fundamentalist christian. If you catch a case of "the gay" or ever be unfortunate enough to need an abortion, well then second class here you come.
