rice says mistakes were made in Iraq
no ms rice, the mistake/crime was invading iraq...an illegitimate war.

++++++++++++++++++

Washington (CNN) -- Removing Saddam Hussein from power was the right move, but the United States made mistakes in the aftermath, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told CNN on Friday.

In an interview to be broadcast Monday on CNN International's "Connect the World" program, Rice acknowledged a failure to focus rebuilding efforts throughout the country and attributed the problem to a lack of understanding.

"I do believe I would take Saddam Hussein out of power again, but of course in the rebuilding of Iraq ... I would do things differently," Rice said. "I think we put too much emphasis on Baghdad and not enough emphasis on the provinces. Perhaps we didn't fully understand the degree to which the society would start to come apart as a result of being held in tyranny for all those years."

At the same time, Rice said it is still too early to fully judge the success or failure of that war or other foreign policy issues in the administration of George W. Bush.

you'd think there would be a hint of remorse for the dead, maimed displaced in iraq ....these people that did NOTHING to us. and our soldiers and soldiers of our allies.....

it's fucking insulting and appalling.

33. What made Jon Stewart invite her on to tell her "poor little girl
born in 1954, subjected to discrimination" story this last week? He didn't ask her to answer any questions about her mushroom-cloud lies or anything - except some humor about Cheney being in charge.
I've called a strike on watching him for at least a week or two over that sickening sweet way he ga-gaed over her.

21. Gotta love the old Nixonian "mistakes were made" phrasing
Of course mistakes were made you fucking twit. A lot of them were made by you, a few by your illiterate boyfriend and many by your boss, Penis Cheney.

I don't understand why nobody ever asks who the hell made all these goddamn mistakes and what they think should be done to those who made them.

24. and the worst of it is, even if O was TRYing to reverse the (IMO) near fatal damage
the aught years have done to the world, it would be a very difficult task.

the way it looks to me (and increasing numbers of people to whom I speak) is that the very WORST of the Bush legacy is being continued, especially in key areas, like education, defense, the environment, and even (for the most part), his handling of the economic fiasco perpetrated by--let's face it--both parties over the last more than decade (many seeds were sown during the clinton years)

29. Did you see her on The Daily Show? Shopping her book and making excuses
Not just for being the Epic Fail NS Advisor, but for why her parents refused to march with Dr King in Birmingham and got little Condi to a place where she could continue her piano and ice skating lessons?

I'm sorry....I know she's not responsible for the decisions her parents made when she was a child, but she doesn't get to have it both ways. She'll play the Black Experience Card when it suits her needs, but like Uncle Clarence Thomas, has she ever done anything for her people other than pretend she isn't one of them?
