First world citizens using the lion's share of the world's resources is a major problem in the
world. What are you doing to help solve that problem? How are you trying to lessen your carbon footprint?

What I'm doing/have done: didn't have any kids to become first world citizens using the lion's share of the world's resources.

I drive a Camry, which gets fairly good mileage.

I keep my apartment fairly warm in the summer and utilize electric fans so the AC doesn't have to run as much.

I always use cold water when I wash clothes.

What are your solutions? How have you contributed to reducing your carbon footprint?

1. The municipality I live in provides recycle bins for plastic and paper products.
We simply sort them out and rinse them out if necessary before placing them out when it's time for the garbage collectors to come around.

That, and I drive a hand-me-down 1995 Camry that gets roughly 28 mpg in my driving conditions.

We usually run the AC at nothing below 80 degrees in the summer. We have ceiling fans that help make it comfortable.

Given the Great Recession, many people I know have simply stopped going out as much, which means fewer cars on the road, and if they're unemployed, the only time they driving is when they're job hunting. The recession is sort of teaching us to do more with less the hard and painful way, though.
