GOP goal: 3,000 to keep eyes on voters
Michigan Republicans are recruiting and training up to 3,000 people to work as poll challengers, primarily in southeast Michigan, for the Nov. 2 election.

Volunteers will stand behind poll workers on Election Day and make sure that the voters appear on the clerks' qualified voter files; that they are in the right voting precinct; that their IDs match the person seeking to vote, and that they are in line before polls close at 8 p.m.

5. And Democrats Are Doing The Same Thing...
I just got an email from the area Democratic party calling for 100 volunteers from this area to be poll watchers and already say they have 80 signed up. Both parties have the right and should have watchers in every polling district in the country to make sure the vote is as fair as possible.

This bit reminds me of my grandmother who served for 40 years as a poll judge in Chicago. Everyone who worked in the poll was a Democrat and each election they drew straws to see who would be the "rushpublican for a day".
