Baby Born From 20-Year-Old Frozen Embryo
Cryopreservation was once the domain of sci-fi novels and B-rate movies. (Think Encino Man.) But it's increasingly real, as the recent birth of a healthy boy from a frozen embryo created 20 years earlier shows.

The birth, which is reported in a study in the online edition of the journal Fertility and Sterility, sets a record. Until now, no embryo frozen for this long has resulted in a live birth.

2. Well, you nailed THAT good!
And.... we're off!

Perhaps we'll see a neo-definition of person-hood which includes the divine state of being frozen. This means when Walt Disney is re-combined into clone-hood, he'll be the same age, but be divinely frozen in-between.

If the lights go out and everything thaws, think mass genocide!

Oye!

12. Freedom of choice pissing off people is probably a sign its being done right
This is an extreme.

The Duggars having 20 kids an extreme.

Someone having 20 abortions is an extreme.

Everyone's free to their opinionsabout these things, but their shouldn't be new laws enacted to criminalize any of this.

And would you happen to know which countries have the high birth rates that constitute to this so-called "population problem"?

Are they the same countries where the population has a high degree of autonomy about contraception and all forms of reproductive CHOICE, including IVF and embryo storage?

No, they most certainly are not.

7. Had to check the link ... but, indeed, there was a WOMAN involved ... !!!!
The 42-year-old mother of the boy, who is not named in the study, began trying to get pregnant using IVF ten years ago. At the time, she and her husband received embryos from a heterosexual couple who had themselves undergone IVF.

That couple had anonymously donated their leftover embryos after the woman successfully gave birth. Thing was, they did so in 1990 – meaning that the boy just born to the woman in the study has a sibling out there somewhere who was conceived at the same time but is 20 years younger.

Other than for this female, there would only still be a frozen egg!
