This is big news. Kosmas handles Tom Feeney's old district which includes Seminole County. I'm pretty sure the place is jockeying for the position of most crooked county in the State but I can't say for sure because I haven't lived in all of the counties in the state. Ms. Kosmas came under attack from both liberals and conservatives on health-care reform, first voting against the House's version of the legislation, then voting for the compromise that became law. But as she pointed out, the compromise was more fiscally responsible than the House version. And while there were serious flaws in the compromise and the process that led to its passage, she's also right that the status quo in health care — costs soaring and millions of Americans without insurance — was not sustainable.
