Is it the fact that her background made it necessary for her to come out and declare, "I am not a witch"? Or is it the fact that she believes that cauldron-stirring evil witches are real beings to begin with? And what does it say about her perceived "base" that they would need to hear "I am not a witch"???
MineralMan tells how, when he was hitchhiking once, he was picked up by a witch. They were driving along when, all of a sudden, she turned into a motel!
that there are things about her that aren't absolutely horrifying.
But I would say the mentality of "I have to remind voters that I'm not a fictional, magical character" is as close to being unfit to hold office as it gets.
