Girlfriend Calls 911 On Pot-Smoking Beau

Woman Tells Police She Tired Of Boyfriend Smoking Weed Instead Of Working

LEBANON, Mo. -- A 35-year-old man is charged in Missouri with possessing marijuana after his girlfriend called 911 and said she was tired of him smoking pot all day instead of working.

Dispatchers in the southwestern Missouri town of Lebanon got a 911 hang-up call Saturday night from a motel room. Police said officers went to the motel and were told by the woman that her boyfriend did nothing during the day but smoke marijuana.

The Lebanon Daily Record reported that the man told police his girlfriend was angry because he didn't have a job yet. He then admitted having marijuana in his car, and handed over a pipe containing the illegal drug.

He was issued a summons for possession and released.

Anyone who doesn't even try, even in the least...well...I hate to sounds like a Republican, but you gotta try a LITTLE. Unless you've got some serious clinical depression going for you...

35. Lebanon, Missouri isn't exactly a big job market
That's a tough part of the country to try to find a job, even in the best of times.

6. Should say, dumbass admits to having pot and gets himself arrested
A simple refusal to answer the police's questions would have ended the matter. Too bad this man did not avail himself of his rights.

I am not too thrilled by his girlfriend either.

for the stupidity of the man.

Make her pay for the Police time?

you've got to be kidding me.

13. You're right, she was just reporting a crime.
Then again, if he is unemployed, she's the one actually paying for the pot so I think the stupidity here can be spread evenly.

15. If it was legal then he'd still be to blame.
Without knowing the whole story of course it is hard to say the man is unemployed by choice. However, the story does lead you to that conclusion. Either way, stupidity to admit to the police his crime doesn't make it her fault.

and how many job opportunities has he missed while getting high?

I would have just dumped him without getting the police involved, but I can't blame her for snapping. At least she did so nonviolently.

People who call police every time they have a personal problem are a reason cops think it's their job to regulate all manner of social interactions.

23. Shit, they're in Lebanon and she's pissed he's smoking pot all day?
I understand, but given that area she should at least be happy he's not into meth hard and heavy.

Besides, given the job situation in that part of the state, the guy's probably given up on finding a job, at least for now. There is very little work in that area even in good times.

It starts with someone calling the cops, and that begins a long, painful, expensive downhill run.

38. Agree 100 percent.
And I wonder how many people who've turned the spouses/partners in for drugs have done it more because they were pissed about something else, rather than concern about the alleged drug use?

40. no it wasn't
Being around illegal substances means you yourself may be arrested. She's lucky that the boyfriend admitted it belonged to him. I learned this lesson the hard way when I was young and as a result I allow no illegal substances I know about to be around me and certainly not in my home or car.

And yes, I agree she should unload the useless prick.
