Rep. Paul Broun Jr (R-GA 10th) asks you to question the food pyramid

My representative, Paul Broun Jr. has to be the dumbest person in congress. How is this guy - who is supposedly a "physician" - going to talk such trash about the FDA, CDC, etc?

You'd think he would recognize that the government programs are trying to encourage people to live a more healthy lifestyle because obesity is such a big problem for our healthcare system, but no... its just because the gov't wants to control every aspect of your life.

Many of Broun's supporters are the people who are so obese and/or debilitated they need scooters to get around. You'd think he'd show a little more concern for them - as a "physician" for crying out loud - but... no, LOL

1. That's a classic leap of logic.
”I tell you, we’ve got some big problems in Washington. Big problems. Just today, Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta said people in America are not eating enough fruits and vegetables.

“They want to get all the power of the federal government to force you to eat more fruits and vegetables. This is what the federal, CDC – they’re going to be calling people to find out how many fruits and vegetables you eat today. This is socialism of the highest order.”

Of course, anytime someone makes a note of something it means they are compelling you to act.

3. So an agenda trumps the health of the general public? Nice. "Idiocracy" is coming true. Scary.

2. Are you sure he's really a doctor? How could somebody that thinks your government's concern
for public health is socialism? The guy doesn't appear to have the intelligence to have gotten any type of degree or did he receive his on-line?

5. I've lived in Athens since 2004 and have yet to see rep. Broun on the streets of his supposed

hometown, nor heard any mention of him having a medical practice here. Supposedly his practice is "housecalls only" which frees him from "bureaucratic encumbrances".

http://broun.house.gov/Biography/

Details are sketchy on his residency and whether or not he completed it. His practice is not advertised, you can't even find a website for his practice on Google, it just lists an address in the McMansion land South East of Athens.

4. Hey, Mr. Broun! What about the government SUBSIDY pyramid?

How about making the food that's good available instead of funding Big Ag? :grr:

This is why a fast food double mega-bacon cheeseburger is cheaper than a salad plate.
