Harry is an incumbent D running a very close race against one of the most egregious of the teabggers, Sarah Palin's choice, David Schweikert. The election of the exceptionally corrupt Schweikert would be disastrous not only for Arizona but for the congress. If Harry is not successful, the outcome for Arizona would be nothing short of a disaster.

Not only does Harry's opponent want to privatize Social Security, dismantle Medicare and institute a radical tax scheme that would raise taxes by 23% on everything we buy, he also endorses a plan to eliminate the Department of Education, ending student aid to college students & their families, including education grants to military families.

This isn?t surprising, considering David Schwiekert is being supported by the most radical elements of the far right whose ideas are far out of the mainstream for Arizona.

I don't know this guy, and don't want to. But buying foreclosed properties does not make someone corrupt.

4. Scweikert was barred from investing for the state of AZ when he was treasurer

and Harry Mitchell has a spotless reputation.Harry is the congressman who took down JD Hayworth and for that alone he should be given support. I have no idea what your agenda is but no one should be forced to defend a Democratic incumbant nominee against a GOP challanger during an election year. on Democratic Underground. If you don't want to contribute, that is your perogative.

It is my understanding that once we have Democratic nominees, we support them on this site.

info on Schweikert;s term in office as treasurer. He was investigated by the Feds and he also has numerous campaign violations for various runs for office. I'll look later tonight. But I still think your attitude toward one of our own seeking re-election against a teabagger needs adjustment, unless you just don't care if we keep the house or not.I would think Sarah Palin's endorsement alone would be enough to prove that Schweikert isn't worthy to hold office and I shouldn't have to explain that on a Democratic site. This was just meant as a quickie request for a small donation as we approach the deadline.

7. I'm gonna do what I can. I went door to door for Harry when I was living in Tempe in 2008.

Well, for he and Obama. I was a little shocked when I moved to North Scottsdale (to be closer to work) to realize I'm STILL in his district... just seems like a HUGE district. Thrilled I get to vote for him again, though. It's a little discouraging to see SO many Schwiekert signs and NO Mitchell signs up here, but I guess that's NoSco for ya. (Side note: I saw a Glassman sign vandalized recently and it REALLY pissed me off. Since then, some Schwiekert signs have gone missing on my side of town. Odd coincidence, I must say.)

ALSO, Sarah Palin endorsed Schwiekert. Not sure what more proof we need to put out there that he's a dick. GO HARRY!
