Boehner won’t promise to end earmarks if GOP takes House
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/09/boehner-wont-promise-end-earmarks/

Republicans have unveiled their 21-page "Pledge to America" but there is one pledge that the potential House Speaker-in-waiting won't make. When asked several times Sunday, Rep. John Boehner refused to say that he would put an end to all earmarks if Republicans take over the House.

"Why is there no mention of ending earmarks in this document?" Wallace asked Boehner on Fox News Sunday.

(snip)
"It's a one-year moratorium that ends in March," noted Wallace. "A number of your top leaders, including Congressman Jerry Lewis who likely be the chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, wants earmarks back. Are you willing to pledge right now if you take over the House, the Republicans do, earmarks will be gone forever?" he asked.

Boehner deflected the question. "It will not be business as usual in Washington, DC."

3. Earmarks are not a problem
McCain was going to cut $19 billion in earmarks, that was his plan for balancing the budget.

4. When are they going to quit asking questions
that they know won't be answered? It's what politicians DO. LIE, deny, avoid...blatantly.
And in this society, they can. No one holds anyone accountable!

Why not just ask them what year they lost their soul or when they quit beating/cheating on their partner or how much money REALLY did they shove in their pockets from lobbyists? It'd be a much more entertaining reality show.

5. You mean Chris Wallace asked Agent Orange a tough question?
And The Cheeto wouldn't answer? Bet he's pissed. He's probably already gone through a pack of cigs.

7. A nice earmark to cut
50 percent from the military budget this year then 5 percent a year for the next 5 years.
