Votes no longer matter in the American system.
Money matters. If you have the money, you will get the votes--by hook, by crook, or by Diebold. Fight the Overlords and you're done. Join them and you're golden.

We're about to see how golden the Democrats are.

So we have HCR legislation that does indeed extend (poor) coverage to people who were denied coverage before, but the insurance companies get a huge, mandated increase in their customer base, along with government subsidies to reimburse them for coverage that the marginally poor can't use because of copays and deductibles.

And we have the Bush tax cuts for the rich. Funny it hasn't occurred to them yet that they could help defray the costs of the top-end tax cuts by eliminating the middle-class cuts. Hell, the Teabaggers would never notice; they already think Obama raised their taxes.

And we have privatized education and union-busting.

And we have pretend-reforms of banking laws (but nothing as harsh as Glass-Steagall).

And so on.

Oh--and no ponies for the Professional Leftists.

3. Don't worry about that.
I know the arguments, and will vote to somewhat retard the general slide into perdition.

4. Yes, that alone makes it worth while to vote Democratic. It would
help a little to prolong the life of what's left of our shaky democracy -- and
where there's life, there's hope. Somehow we may still survive and beat off
those evil monsters.

2. What? You think they owe us something for knocking all those doors and GOTV?
They get to keep their ponies. We can keep on shoveling shit behind their parades.

8. The Word Is Lobbyists
They are the movers and shakers. One group pays to have their "spoke persons" to push their product and the other guys do the same. It's little more then a huge ad agency where the best commercials sell their product(which appears to be a candidate who doesn't know his arse from a flag pole). Why they even bother with the entire voting process is to humor the little guy and to make it look to the world at large that we are a real democracy where everyone is entitled to vote for their choice. Of course the winners have already been determined by "them" before the voting machines have been set up. Just in case their "AD AGENCY" was not enough to guarantee the winner they can easily fix the machines to do their bidding for them.

10. I think she WILL find out...
We do tend to be skeptical of those who want to buy elections out here...

She will not be the first.
