Bono's Charity is Under Fire

SINGER Bono’s Aids charity is under fire for spending more on its staff’s wages than it does on its own cause.

According to a report in the US the global charity took in £9.6million in public donations in 2008, the latest year for which US public tax records are available.

A meagre £118,000 was split between three charities – while more than £5million was spent on executive and employee salaries.

The figures come after the charity fielded criticism for sending pricey goodie bags to media outlets to highlight its latest campaign against world poverty.

1. That's 15 million dollars (US) they took in and they only spent $185,189(US).

3. Bono is full of himself.
He demands nations to increase their foreign aid. National governments give foreign aid from their general funds which are funded by taxes.
Bono moved U2's business interests from Ireland to the Netherlands to receive tax breaks. See what a hypocritical sack of garbage he really is.

7. "it took no money from the public and that most of its funding came from the Bill & Melinda Gates"

"In one of the letters the charity claims that it took no money from the public and that most of its funding came from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation."

Average salary is about $42K Euro. With 120 people worldwide. I don't see a problem with this if they are all working on good projects and someone isn't pulling down some gargantuan wage and pulling everyone else's wages down in doing so.
