The embedded point in WOODWARD's book (whether HE knows it or not) is that there is shock-SHOCK in media yakker-dom that there was ACTUAL DEBATE in the President's decision-making about the surge, because you-all ASSUMED that he had no choice but to do whatever PETRAEUS wanted, that it was automatic that the President HAD to grab PETREUS as a lifeline to manly-manhood because YOUR narrative was that the President was a weak Lib. You bought CHEENEE's smear of "dithering" and are now SHOCKED that real decision-making was going on.

What's incredible is that anybody continues to talk to WOODWARD unless they are preening to get themselves out there for their own benefit. Hillary CLINTON wasn't stupid enough to talk to him, although he's been known to "interview" comatose bodies.
