Don't we all have "pre-existing conditions"?
Aren't we all houses afire the day we're born we burn down at different rates? I have no doubt that my insurance company could find a pre-existing condition in me. No doubt about it.

4. As long as it's not in your medical records
it has never been "pre-existing". Sometimes I don;t go to the doctor for that "just in case" things take a turn for the worse, then it is a "new" condition, and more likely to be covered by insurance...'course, that was in the days I actually had or could afford insurance :(

6. Life is a pre-existing condition .
and the instant a doctor writes something on your chart, THAT becomes a special pre-existing condition that is always available to any insurance company, on which they may reject you or charge you more..

...patient states that she is feeling anxious and breathless...
......... a few years later a $10 an hour insurance hack may determine that you had a "heart/lung" related incident..when you may have been upset over a car accident your child was in, and their injuries.

or your blood sugar may have been in the normal range for decades @ 108..and then a new standard was imposed @100 for normal..and now you are "pre-diabetic"..

or you may pour your heart out to a doctor about a personal occurrence in your marriage or home & he/she may write that you appeared depressed...later on, your "depression" may be interpreted as something more sinister

12. Exactly.
Not to mention how stressful life can be because of extra BS our society has placed on our shoulders. Traffic jams, pollution, tight schedules, not enough time to sleep after working then doing all the stuff at home that needs to be done, always hurrying to try to get everything done, just to do it all over again the next day after nowhere near enough sleep.

Stress can kill you. So, if they stress us all out, they can claim stress is a pre-existing condition too.

It is like a Catch 22. Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.

11. We have "pre-existing conditions" from the minute we are born.
"Pre-existing conditions" are like thought crime. Most people wouldn't be at the doctor's office or hospital unless something was wrong. A hospital is not exactly a cool hang out spot or anything. The doctor's office isn't a movie theater or some other place you just go because you want to. Usually, if you are at either of those places, it is because there is some reason you need to be there.

Basically, what the insurance companies are saying is that they only want to pay for yearly checkups and nothing else. Practically everything else is a "pre-existing condition."

14. what good is insurance if it doesn't cover what you need ?
maybe a whole other way to pay for health care needs to begin. It wouldn't be hard to beat the efficiency of the current system.

The current system is operated like a casino.
